… Last October 19, Cel and I were off to Island Cove to have my first offsite with HP. When we arrived, Cel went off to sleep and I joined in the games. Cel was awakened by the ring of a celphone because Glorietta 2 had just exploded. I knew about it when I went back to the room, and turned on the TV. OMG! I was welcomed by footage of the wrecked mall. To think that Cel, my family and I always walk around there! I grieve for the families of the victims of bombing.
… I want to say something about the whole Kobe Bryant trade drama. First of all, I am a Kobe fan. I recognize that he is the best singular talent in the NBA today and I want him to win just because of that. He the closest MJ has become in this new generation. Second, regardless of where he lands, I want him to win another championship. There were reports that the Lakers look good in training camp but the owner, Jerry Buss, has fielded offers to trade Kobe out of LA. If Kobe is to be traded, and if I were to choose, Chicago will be the place where Kobe will play again. If Kobe wins in MJ’s city, can we say to statues outside the coliseum?
… Anniversary time is coming up, and because my mall got blown up, Cel and I may not give each other gifts this time around. But its ok with me because I don’t need anymore gifts as long as I have my baby! I love you baby! Advanced Happy 2nd!
I don’t know if it is because it is the year of the pig or is it because of divine intervention or some other unworldly event.
But I have been lucky this year.
Since the start of the year, an abundance of blessings have come forth all of which I am deeply grateful for.
My grandparents’ health. My dad’s career. My mom’s book. HP. Shuffle. CEL!
I just hope my luck won’t run out that fast.
Maybe I’ll play lotto one of these days, just to try my luck!
I like food. I like cooking and preparing food. I like eating food especially the gourmet ones. I also like to create different and unique dishes that is not common and not normally done. I am super envious of the judges of Iron Chef America, eating scrumptious sets of dishes from the likes of Bobby Flay, Mario Batali and Masaharu Morimoto. Mmm…
Food is like a simple thing for me. For me, it is not rocket science. It’s just simple common sense and a little bit of creativity. I really don’t regularly follow any recipes, except for the ones that are really essential in cooking i.e. basic sauces, basic procedures, etc.
I have a renewed love for cooking and food in general because we have recently bought a stove top grill and a blender. In addition to that, I have vowed to myself and to my love, that I will eat healthy. It has given me a new challenge on how to prepare my own food. Gone are the days that I will cook with butter and finish it off with bacon and mayonnaise. Eww. I don’t like that anymore. And since we do have a grill and a blender, I can eat healthy now.
Some of my newest creations are very healthy yet very tasty as well. One of my dishes is the Grilled Chicken with a dry rub of curry, rosemary, oregano, basil, salt, pepper and garlic. Another one is the Pureed Squash Soup with sour cream. I haven’t even mentioned my pasta dishes yet!
Apparently, my creative culinary juices have spilled over my love. She has been consulting me in different healthy recipes which I certainly appreciate. Its great because she doesn’t cook that much and now she does! Although, there might have been a few mishaps in the past(eggs curdling? winkwink), it is just quite alright.
All I can say is that food is lurve! Hehehe!
I haven’t been able to post lately because of the lack of news or interesting things to talk about. Now I will try to write something interesting in this post. Try being the requisite word.
I have been saying my goodbyes here at my old company, Langhoff Promotions, and it seems that it is going ok. I have no regrets saying goodbye here because of the new destination I am about to go to. I asked if I can start early, rather the the original October 16 starting date. Why? Not that I am excited, a little maybe, but I thought that I’d start early because I have nothing else to do here. I have handed my accounts over to my replacement and I am just awaiting my last day and they are waiting for my despedida. My career is going well and I hope it continues for a long time.
I haven’t been posted as much at LTB, because of the news (or lack thereof) in the NBA. Although one topic has been talked about this day, and that is Shawn Marion wants out of the Phoenix Suns. what makes the news even better, is that The Matrix would welcome a trade that would bring him to the Lakers to play alongside his close friend Kobe Bryant. Now a lot of people have been debating whether or not Shawn Marion is the answer the Lakers are waiting for. But if the Lakers are to get SM, they would have to part with Lamar Odom and a filler. If I were to choose, I wouldn’t trade Lamar for Shawn, just because Lamar has played with the Triangle for quite some time now and that is a hard system to master. Let us just see the next few days if something develops.
Our house help just “resigned”. I was suddenly brought back to my younger years when I was doing the ironing and cleaning in the house. It is not that hard being that we are only three in the family. I mean we can do it, but I don’t want my Mom getting stressed over this because she is also studying for her doctorate. So hopefully, we get a house help soon.
I have realized that Australia is definitely a go baby. The Philippines is not the place for me anymore. Its a dump. I love you baby!
A lot has happened since. And I cannot say that it has been bad. Everything has been so far, so good. Keep it coming. Thanks for everything.
My family is in a crisis. We are really pushed in a corner for this one. Everybody can feel the pressure of it. Torn by what to decide. Torn because of the decision that is a lose-lose situation in my opinion. This is the first time this has happened and we are bracing ourselves for the inevitable. Now is not a good time right now.
Now I call upon you, the Miracle Maker. Damboy. My Kuya. You are my personal savior. You are the family’s hope. I know that you are watching us right now and I know that you know that this is happening to us. I don’t know that if its you who visited us last Sunday or visited me at Friendster. I don’t know what is going to happen. All I know is that you will be there every step of the way. Guiding us to that right path even if it is hard. But we are so confused. Why is this happening to us and why is it happening right now? I guess you are the only one who knows that. I just hope that we can bear it as long as we can.
I myself is torn by two things. If you are to invite him then invite him now, not to prolong the agony and difficulty. But we like to be with her still. It is so hard.
I just hope that you guide us. Do not worry. We will be strong for her and for you. I will be strong for everybody.
I leave it to you Damboy. My Kuya.
Earlier, Team USA had their first game in the FIBA Americas Championship. Led by superstars Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, they cruised past Venezuela into a convincing win. Will the US regain lost glory after failing to do so that past couple of tournaments? We will see…
Another thing that I have been keeping close tabs is the Los Angeles Lakers. Specifically, Kobe’s fate as a Laker. Right after the playoffs, Kobe demanded the Lakers front office, namely Mitch Kupchak, to get someone in the offseason that can help the Lakers. But all Mitch did was bring in an old “old” Laker in the person of Derek Fisher, resign Luke Walton (good move by the way), sign a Luke Walton-type player in Coby Karl and Larry Turner. Is that it? Will that help the Lakers get past the first round? I think not. There have been a plea at LTB headquarters to get several players, and since most of them have moved elsewhere or have not moved at all, everybody has been praying that Jermaine O’Neal will be the savior for the Lakers. Unfortunately, no moves have been done since. And while Kobe is busy with Team USA, all the avid Laker fans can’t sit still in their chairs.
Let us just hope that the Lakers will have a great season behind Kobe.
